Meet Kacey

Fun Fact: Kacey’s great-grandfather is the famous Lil Buckaroo, who even has his own Breyer model!

Kacey is a 34-inch powerhouse of personality. A purebred American Miniature Horse, she comes from strong show lines and carries herself like she was born to be in the spotlight. With her flashy buckskin pinto coat and big-horse attitude, Kacey is a stunning and bold example of the breed—and she absolutely knows it.

The American Miniature Horse was originally developed in the 1800s to work in coal mines and was later bred for elegance, intelligence, and showmanship. Kacey embodies all of those traits—plus a little extra sass. She may be small, but she runs the show. The rest of the herd doesn’t go anywhere without her, and Kacey always makes sure her presence is known.

She’s vocal, opinionated, and endlessly curious. Whether she’s joining trail rides (sometimes invited, sometimes not…), jumping over obstacles in the arena and pasture, or trotting loose through the barn aisles, Kacey is always up to something. She’s also a professional escape artist—if there’s a gate unlatched, a crack in the fence, or a chance to cause mischief, she’ll find it.

Though she’s too small for riding lessons, Kacey is a key player in our Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy program, especially for kids and participants who are unsure around full-sized horses. She’s clever, expressive, and absolutely loves attention—but patience is not her virtue. Kacey is here to move, play, and make sure we all stay humble.

Independent, fearless, and full of fire, Kacey might be miniature in size—but she’s one of the biggest personalities we’ve ever met.
