riding lessons

Our riding program specializes in giving beginner riders of all ages a safe, thorough, and well-rounded introduction to the horse world.

We believe learning to ride is about much more than time in the saddle. Our goal is to develop knowledgeable, capable horsemen and horsewomen who understand the horse underneath them.

Horsemanship is at the heart of our program.

Students learn the entire process of working with horses, including catching and leading, grooming, tacking and untacking, equipment and tack, groundwork, horse behavior, safety, basic care, and proper riding skills. As riders progress, they become increasingly responsible for preparing and caring for their own horse before and after each ride.

Our goal is to give every student a strong, well-rounded foundation in horses and riding, not simply teach them how to stay on a horse. We want our riders to understand the what, how, and why behind what they are doing and develop the confidence, independence, and practical skills to navigate the horse world safely and responsibly.

Whether their goals eventually include recreational riding, horse ownership, exploring a particular discipline, or simply enjoying a lifelong connection with horses, we want to give them an education that will continue to serve them at every stage of their journey.

A Structured Path to Progress

Our riders progress through a level-based curriculum, allowing students and families to clearly see what they are learning and what comes next.

After developing their foundational skills, riders may progress through either our English or Western track, with instruction incorporating multiple disciplines and experiences, including:

  • English riding

  • Western riding

  • Jumping

  • Groundwork

  • Trail riding

  • Horse care & management

  • Tack, equipment & horsemanship

We are a recreational and educational riding program rather than a competition-focused barn. Our emphasis is on developing strong fundamentals, good horsemanship, confidence, and a genuine understanding of horses.

Private Lessons

$65 | 60 minutes

All new students begin in private lessons. This allows us to introduce each rider to our horses, evaluate their individual needs and learning style, and establish the safety and foundational skills needed before they have the option to move into a small group.

Small Group Lessons

$60 | 90 minutes

Select riders who have demonstrated the necessary independence and horsemanship skills may have the opportunity to transition into one of our small groups. Groups are intentionally kept small so riders continue receiving individualized instruction while benefiting from additional saddle time and learning alongside other students.

Ages 4+ | Children & Adults | English & Western

No horse experience is necessary. In fact, beginners are our specialty!

Our mission is to create a welcoming place to enter the horse world, learn the right way from the beginning, and build a foundation of skills and horsemanship that lasts far beyond your first riding lesson.

More Than a Weekly Lesson

Students enrolled in our riding lesson program also become part of our barn community, with additional opportunities to learn, participate, and spend time around the horses beyond their regular lesson.

Current lesson students receive:

  • Priority registration for our horse camps before remaining spaces are opened to the public

  • Access to lesson-student barn events and activities throughout the year

  • Access to our Barn Chore Nights, where students can gain hands-on experience with the everyday care and work that goes into keeping a barn and caring for a herd

These opportunities are an extension of our emphasis on horsemanship. We want our students to experience more than simply showing up, riding, and going home. Time spent caring for horses, working around the barn, and participating in the barn community helps develop the confidence, responsibility, and practical knowledge that creates truly well-rounded horsepeople.
