Meet Sienna

Breed: American Quarter Horse
Color: Buttermilk Buckskin
Age: 12
Height: 15 hh
Fun Fact: Her barn nickname is “Peanut”!

Sienna is one of the most striking horses you’ll ever meet. Her classic buckskin coat with a golden body, dark mane and tail, and black points is one of the most iconic and beloved colorations in American horse history. Buckskins have long been considered the horse of the American West, seen in legends like Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Dale Evans’ Buttermilk, and Buck from Bonanza. Sienna carries that legacy with beauty, grace, and just the right amount of sass.

Originally bred and trained as a reining horse, Sienna has a strong foundation and a lot of training under her belt—and she also loves to jump! She’s athletic, responsive, and always eager to work. Around the barn, though, she’s best known for her affectionate personality. Lovingly nicknamed “Peanut,” she will do anything for attention and especially loves resting her head on your shoulder for a good long hug.

Sienna is a wonderful step-up lesson horse for riders looking to refine their skills. She’s extremely perceptive and will immediately respond to your body and energy, making her a great teacher for learning better balance and communication. That same emotional awareness makes her a natural in our Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy sessions—she always knows how to meet people exactly where they are.

Whether she’s connecting with riders, helping someone heal, or galloping freely like the wild horse she imagines herself to be, Sienna is a treasured and unforgettable member of our program.
